Watch Shikhar Dhawan’s Bottle Cap Challenge

Shikhar Dhawan accepts the bottle cap challenge from Yuvraj Singh who is still recovering from his thumb injury which he got in the ICC World Cup 2019 during India’s match against Australia in which he managed to score a century with a broken thumb. The social media has adopted a new trend of viral videos of #bottlecapchallenge where people open the cap of the bottle in their unique style without the use of the hands.

Yuvraj Singh was the first Indian Cricketer to accept this challenge and he passed on this challenge to Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar, Chris Gayle, and Shikhar Dhawan and he wrote “Here’s my version of the #bottlecapchallenge. The challenge goes out to @BrianLara @SDhawan25 @henrygayle and @sachin_rt who has to take this challenge as a left hander 😎” on the post.

Shikhar Dhawan who had a serious injury of a fractured thumb has been recovering well since then as he was seen batting in the nets while doing the #BottleCapChallenge and had done an absolutely amazing job.
He wrote on the post “Yuvi Paaji, here is my #BottleCapChallenge! This is the first time I am picking my bat up after my injury..feels good to be back! 💪 @yuvisofficial”

Yuvraj Singh replied to his post and said: “Shot eh jatt ji welcome back 👊🏽 #doitagain”

The video of Shikhar Dhawan doing #BottleCapChallenge is viral because he is seen after a long time in cricket nets as he was recovering from his thumb injury and his well-wishers are sharing this post on various social media platforms. He was playing a cover drive shot and the ball hits onto the top of the bottle to remove the cap and he was celebrating after the challenge was accomplished. He was replaced by young wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant in the World Cup 2019 Indian team squad as his injury took more than the estimated time of recovery and was a bit serious. With his recovery from the injury, he can now be considered to be picked in the ODI and T20I side to tour West Indies at the beginning of August. India had a disappointing loss in World Cup 2019 semi-finals against New Zealand and team management will be looking forward for West Indies tour and thereafter hefty domestic Cricket season.
